These days life seems to be emotionally interesting and physically tough. Just full of funk, and not the get up off your seat and move kind of funk, more like the I am not sure if I can get up and survive the day funk. Full moon? Time change? Just life? Lately, I wake up, remind my self to take a deep breath in, but forget that I also need to breathe out. I have placed my heart in a jar for protection and closed my self off. My go-to defense mechanism, my flight reaction in full cataclysmic mode. Survive! As simple as that, these past few months I have been in survival mode.

But then unexpectedly, as it usually is, a friend presents a gift. A small on the outside, bursting with love from the inside token. A gift that created a shift in my thinking and feeling.  A ripple that turned into a wave that came crashing over me as I drove away from her house holding it, warming it with my hand. A Rose Quartz Heart. And not only one for me, but one for every member of my family.

A small, yet ever so important reminder to focus on what matters most in my world, my heart and the love that surrounds me. I know it sounds silly to think that a small Rose Quartz heart can create such a movement, but it was more then the actual gift. It was the thought and the heartfelt care that came with it. The reassurance that I can thrive, I am connected to those around me through love, and that I am never alone. It was time for me to take my heart in the jar off the shelf and free it to feel again. Feel everything, good and bad. It was time for me to THRIVE instead of simply survive.

Rose Quartz is a good one because it is the stone of unconditional love and infinite peace. It is considered to be the most important stone for the heart teaching us the true essence of love. It purifies and opens the heart and can bring deep healing and self love. It is a reminder that if you want to attract love, you need to emit love.

Ayurveda…an Answer to Anxiety - Share this...FacebookGoogle+TwitterLinkedinAn overwhelming period of anxiety took over my life a year ago… the gut wrenching, breath stopping kind, absolutely paralyzing both mentally and physically. Perhaps you’ve had times in life where you felt safe, stable and then the earth shattered beneath your feet (a landslide?!): your mind suddenly turned into a night-long, ever- working…

Rose Quartz is often referred to as the “Love” stone.  It is known for energetically emitting unconditional love and opening the heart chakra.  It has a calming and soothing effect, is helpful for overcoming challenges and trauma, and supports emotional wellbeing. Rose quartz energy can be supportive for heart conditions and problems with blood circulation. It is believed to help prevent thrombosis and heart attacks, as well as make the heart muscles stronger.

Life can be tough, things happen that scare us, make us upset, make us feel both good and bad. With that small gift, I was reminded that it was my perception of those feelings that was creating the fear. I needed a little flip. I needed to begin to truly let my heart be free and emit love. I have so much to love, and I am so loved in return. So I am allowing myself to be ok with being ok, knowing that I will grow and thrive because of my challenges.

My present to you moving forward is a reminder with a Rose Quartz heart to keep your self open. You are worth it, and you are so loved. Show kindness to those around you, and be vulnerable to take the kindness of others. Share your feelings and your love. Open up and the gift you give yourself will be a healing heart.
