Star Signposts: Week of the First Quarter Moon ~ July 30 – August 6

Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ www.lunarplanner.com

“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about…it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”

Sun July 30

First Quarter Moon: T-square with Moon in Libra/SunMars in Cancer/Pallas Athene in Aries: Like our New Moon a week ago, today’s tense T- square also involves truth-telling Mars and adds in wise, creative Pallas Athene. What a superb day to set things in motion on all levels. Use this aspect to create rather than self-destruct. You simply must do something or physically move with this dynamic energy in athletic or creative movement.

Mon July 31

Moon in Libra square Lunar Nodes: The Moon ~ our emotions ~ can wobble when this aspect appears. It might feel like there is no solid ground beneath your emotional landscape, key relationships. You always have a stability of Self inside, somewhere, so re-find it today, by whatever means works for you. Prepare yourself so you can be a calm guide for others as future incoming wobbles continue to hit our Earth with increasing magnitude and ferocity.

Tue August 1

Sun in Cancer square Pallas Athene in Aries: Excellent day to make a new plan or revise an old strategy. Make decisions on which quilt you will make, on which yarn you will buy for the next knitting project, on the next subject you want to paint. Legal matters come to a head today, too.

Moon in Scorpio quincunx Venus in Gemini: People are out to investigate and uncover things with this aspect. Steer clear of paranoia in regards to your relationships, instead, ask honest questions. Other’s might not be forthright so trust your instincts about what’s really going on.

Wed August 2

Mercury/Vesta conjunction in Leo: This annual alignment is laser-sharp when it comes to mental focus, communicating, or creating drama. What’s more, when Mercury enters it’s next retrograde August 12 – September 5 , we will revisit this wonderful portal two more times. It’s a fabulous time to activate the super powers of your mind and focus them with exceptional clarity to accomplish anything you desire.

Moon/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio: Don’t beat yourself up in case you wish you felt happier today. Allow yourself to dip down into your deeper emotional well and just witness what is arising, then passing away. Use the depths to appreciate your depth, of desire, of obsession, of things you still want to shift and heal.

Ceres in Gemini sextile Pallas Athene in Aries: Shop for new tools, gadgets, creative objects you need for a home project or art project. Conversations veer toward co-inspiration and support.

Thu August 3

Moon in Sagittarius square Chiron trine Uranus: Tomorrow is a BIG day, in terms of star weather. So make it a light one today. This aspect supports a spirit of adventure in some, and facilitates healing and direct conversations for others. Talk to yourself in a loving, supportive, life-coaching manner and see how fast positive language and affirmations will turn things around in your life.

Fri August 4

Jupiter square Pluto finale: What began on November 24, 2016, completes today, so give some thought as to what was set in motion in your life around that time. This aspect is particularly political in nature and rapid-fire realizations will emerge today. Jupiter demands sunlight will illuminate the truth, yet Pluto often likes to keep things hidden (especially when people are in ‘negative’ Pluto and seek to control everyone). Yet Pluto also will ALWAYS, ALWAYS get to the rock-bottom truth. I place my faith in Jupiter and Pluto, always, to reveal deceptions and expose what’s really going on.

Mars in Cancer square Pallas Athene in Aries: Emergency action plans are the name of this game. If you haven’t done it yet, make a plan today with your family or get your emergency kit ready, your supplies well-stocked. Especially those of you in the Total Solar Eclipse zone. It’s going to be like nothing we can imagine, so listening and trusting your instincts, Pallas Athene’s domain, will be essential. Organizations might consider making sure they have solid emergency plans in place.

Venus in Gemini opposite Juno/Moon in Sagittarius: This aspect makes for a wilder, more festive than usual Friday night. It is gabby, gregarious, curious about everything, and opinionated. Have some fun in all your conversations and be bold with asserting your truth while also remaining curious about how other’s view the world. It might be hard to get an early reservation as everyone is out on the town.

Sat August 5

Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius square Jupiter in Virgo: Push the limits with this alignment, especially in terms of athletic goals or teaching another something you are passionate about. You will tend to have strong, consistent energy all day long, following on the heels of yesterday’s historic, driven Jupiter/Pluto square.

Sun August 6

Moon in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries: Tomorrow morning we greet a hot tempered Full Moon. It’s a good idea, too, to be honing the muscles of emotional equanimity so you will remain a zone of calm in these chaotic times. Capricorn likes daily, disciplined practice, but Uranus likes freedom and to try new things. Rededicate yourself to meditation, yoga, daily walks, and make it all fit in the organic flow of your wonderful life. Joyful Full Moon tomorrow!

TOOL FOR SUPPORT: In an attempt to help you maintain health, calm and balance during these stressful times, here’s a helpful tool: Health is in your Hands. I am a proponent of Jin Shin Jyutsu and have been a practitioner since 1983. This beautiful, easy-to-use book and card set teaches you the ancient Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Art of Self Healing. JSJ’s premise is that by applying the jumper-cable of your hands to various points on the body, you can clear your own stress on a daily basis, freeing up stuck energy that leads to patterns of dis-ease, while activating the renewed flow of qi and vigor on all levels, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. Please check it out, and teach yourself this simple tool for centering and radiant vitality.
